As many of you may know, we have our very own Conebeam CT as of December 2023. Dr. Maruko has been using a mobile service that goes to people’s homes since 2020. 3D has proven to be so valuable for diagnosis and treatment planning that we took the leap to make things more convenient for our patients. It is especially important for measurements, diagnosis, and treatment planning for sleep and airway, TMJ, and complex orthodontic cases, like surgery and impacted teeth.
Did you know that Dr. Maruko has a Maxillofacial Radiologist help with diagnosis and treatment planning? Her doctors have extra training in sleep, airway and TMJ, just like Dr. Maruko. The scans are highly complex and she relies on their expertise to find abnormalities that she is not trained to recognize.
Never stop learning and growing:
In May, Dr. Maruko took a course, by the incomparable radiologist, Dr. Dania Tamimi, on Conebeam CT and MRI for TMJ and Airway. She sat in front of her computer from 6:00AM until 2:00PM for two days. It was highly in depth and worth waking up for, although it took her a few days to recover.
